Secretary General of ARTED Elif \u00d6zman Pusat, Secretary General at Association of Research Based Pharmaceutical Companies (AIFD) \u00dcmit Dereli and Ac\u0131badem University Healthcare Management Department Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Yusuf Celik took part as a speaker \u2018\u2019Value Based Payment\u2019\u2019 session which was moderated by Istanbul University Cerrahpa\u015fa Faculty Member and Value-Based Health Association Head Prof. Dr. Haluk \u00d6zsar\u0131 on 3rd day of the program.<\/p>\n
Elif \u00d6zman Pusat underlined that the different features of medical devices present both challenges and opportunities for a value-based approach in the presentation. Sharing the striking statistics that while the impact of in vitro test results on clinical decisions is 70%, the budget spent on IVD tests constitutes only 0.8% of total healthcare expenditures worldwide, Pusat pointed out how important it is for the diagnostic process to make the correct diagnosis. Reminding that according to OECD data, Pusat touched upon the importance of introducing innovative test and treatment methods to the market, 10 to 30 percent of health expenditures are spent on misdiagnosis\u00a0and\u00a0treatment.<\/p>\n
